Live-In Sled Prototype Hits Climbing World

E365 -- The latest invention to hit the world of those maniacs mountaineers who spend days aloft, in freezing, frost-bite weather and jacket-piercing winds? A live-in sled!

They're calling it the 'Sarcophagus on Skis'. The bulky mobile sled device is a mobile alternative to a tent, meaning that you are able to get further without having to carry all the weight on your back. Well, there's always stuff to carry, but this thing seems to work, Anyway, we're doing a story here. Shaddup.

So basically, it's a bathtub with two compartments - an upper and a lower. You sleep in the lower, and hope that the lock doesn't break when you wake up.

Some of the issues this mummy-like enclosure overcomes are, for example having to fiddle with delicate pieces of tent equipment with freezing hands when you're already tired and grumpy. This thing just flips open like a big pair of jaws. Because it's at an angle, you can also point it into the wind, creating a slipstream instead of being battered.

Problems? You look like a husky pulling it behind you.
