2008 Action Sports World Tour Event Schedule Released

E365 -- ASA Entertainment has announced its 2008 Action Sports World Tour event schedule. From July to November action sports fans throughout the U.S. can experience the world’s top professional skateboarders, freestyle BMXers, inline skaters, snowboarders and freestyle motocross superstars during a series of five major competitions in a quest for the ultimate title, the LG Action Sports World Championships.

Top Seeds Struggle At Teahupoo

E365 -- Reigning ASP World Champion Mick Fanning suffered his first last place finish in two years at the Billabong Pro Tahiti this afternoon. After waiting for six days to commence competition, all of Round 1 and the first five heats of Round 2 were run in perfect four to six foot waves at Teahupoo yesterday.

Philippaerts Storms To GP Of Bulgaria Win

E365 -- A fantastic Grand Prix of Bulgaria took place on Sunday under mixed weather conditions, with sun and rain showers falling throughout the whole day. MX1 Championship leader David Philippaerts kept the red plate by winning this fourth Grand Prix of the season while Tommy Searle won the MX2 overall with team mate Tyla Rattray getting the red plate back. The two mounted on an all KTM podium which was completed by Shaun Simpson. 

Pro Wakeboard Tour Set To Start In Style

E365 -- The MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour is set to kick off its 17th season on May 16-18, 2008, in Acworth at Dallas Landing Park. 

Teahupoo: Hobgood Out, Swell On The Way

E365 -- The Dream Tour's top 45 have been enduring a glut of lay days in Tahiti this last week, patiently waiting for the Pacific to deliver in one of the most lauded locations on the Tour. After five days of sitting on their hands it looks like the Billabong Pro Tahiti is set to start today, without defending champion Damien Hobgood.

E365 -- The Red Bull Air Race World Series has tightened at the top heading to the third race of the season in Detroit (31 May/1 June) even though Britain’s Paul Bonhomme made it two-for-two with victories in the first two races. 

Ingleby Wins Oxbow WLT in Anglet

E365 -- Harley Ingleby was crowned Oxbow WLT pres. by Orange Champion yesterday in good two to three foot (0.5 to 1 meter) waves at Les Dunes, south to the main venue of Les Cavaliers, and takes the lead on the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Longboard Tour (WLT) ratings.

E365 -- The Billabong Pro Tahiti may be taking its time to get off the ground, but the world’s best surfers are finding plenty of ways to entertain themselves in the interim. They had to do it all over again yesterday - the Billabong Pro Tahiti was called off again yesterday morning 

Bohan Impresses At Red Bull Elevation

E365 -- It’s impossible to imagine, but yesterday Red Bull Elevation turned the Parque Metropolitano into a runway. Thirty bicycles rolled for more than three hours over tons of dirt that give shape to a truly impressive BMX Dirt Jump track. 

Still No Surfing At The Billabong Pro

E365 -- As expected, the Billabong Pro Tahiti was off again yesterday. Event officials are not expecting to run Round 1 until Monday or Tuesday, but monitor the conditions each morning nonetheless. Should conditions be contestable, they would not hesitate to lengthen heat times and commence competition. 

Skate Coming To Wii

E365 -- When Skate finally dropped for the Xbox 360 and PS3 last year it soon became evident that EA and Black Box had literally reinvented the skateboarding game, particularly with its new focus on dual-analog stick control gameplay. 

Oxbow WLT Champion To Be Crowned Today

E365 -- The Oxbow WLT got closer to its business end yesterday and the 2008 Oxbow WLT Champion will be crowned today. The pressure rose at Les Dunes, and favorites took the best of the three foot waves on offer to secure a spot in the finals. From the sixteen men who surfed in Round 4 yesterday, only eight remain in the race for the title. 

TTR World Tour: Looking Ahead To Next Season

E365 -- The Swatch TTR Event applications are over and it's time to start looking forward to a new season of amazing snowboarding performances – with over $2.5 million up for grabs at events worldwide over a 10-month period. 

Another Lay Day At Teahupoo

E365 -- The Billabong Pro Tahiti did not run yesterday, Friday, May 9, 2008. The small waves on offer at Teahupoo were inadequate for ASP World Tour competition and there are nine more days in which to run the four days of competition it will take to crown a Billabong Pro Tahiti champion. 

AMA Toyota MX Champs Set To Get Underway

E365 -- For the first time in four years the opening round of the 2008 AMA Toyota Motocross Championship returns to the Glen Helen Raceway Park in Southern California, right in the heart of the motocross industry, for the 13th Annual Giant RV AMA Motocross National presented by Yamaha on May 24/25. 

Oxbow WLT Round 3: Usual Suspects Perform

E365 -- Round 3 of the Oxbow WLT started at Noon at Les Dunes, South to the main venue of Les Cavaliers, in clean two to three foot waves and light off-shore wind. With the high tide not allowing any surf at Anglet, twelve heats were done today and eighteen remain before the champion is crowned. 

Nissan Qashqai Challenge: Next Stop Munich

E365 -- Only 3 days until the first Nissan Qashqai Challenge event in the Olympiapark, Munich – the site of the 1972 Olympic Games. Fans from all over the world will head to the Coubertinplatz, right in between the Olympic Stadium and the swimming hall in order to watch the world's best mountain bikers compete.  

Billabong Pro: Lay Day For Day 1

E365 -- Yesterday was the first of an 11-day waiting period for the Billabong Pro Tahiti but the ASP Top 45 and event wildcards did not paddle out for their Round 1 heats. Contest Director Luke Egan eyed conditions all morning before opting to call things off for the day.
