Round Five Kitesurfing Rocks British Isles Again
E365> Kitesurfing - Thursday September 13 2007
E365 -- The guy's obviously got some steez, because Sam Light dominated Round 5 of the British Kite Surfing Championships at Balmedie Beach, Scotland. In other words, first-position leader Lewis Crathern better watch his backside.
Sam, who is sponsored by Naish & ONeill, produced some awesome riding with S Bends to Blind, S Bends to Blind Switch & Big Kiteloop Handle Passes giving him the edge in the pro mens competition.
The guy's like a media magnet.
Sam will be attending Round 6 of the British Kite Surfing Championships which are to be held this weekend at Littlehampton. He is hoping that local knowledge of the beach and the riding conditions will prove to be an advantage as he strives to further close in on current British Champion, Lewis Crathern.
Sam has been kite surfing since 2003 and turned professional in 2006. Following a successful start to 2007, which saw Sam win Kenya Cup Overall Winner, Kenya Cup Freestyle & Kenya Cup Slider & Kicker, Sam went onto to compete in the British Kite Surfing Championships, and also in Tarifa as part of the PKRA professional tour where he came a respectable 13th out of 31.
On Monday 17th September, Sam flies out to Brazil to compete in another round of the PKRA before returning to Hayling Island for the 7th and final round of the British Kite Surfing Championships on 5-7th October.
