Tour Continues With Absolut Park Spring Battle

E365 -- The World Snowboard Tour continues in Austria with the Swatch TTR 3-Star Absolut Park Spring Battle, taking place in Flachauwinkl from March 28th to 30th, 2008.

Amateur riders will be given the chance to pit their strengh against professional snowboarders, in hopes of earning 550 valuable TTR Ranking Points and a piece of the 8000 Euro prize purse.

Big name riders ready to rip it up include Austrian snowboarders Wolle Beer, local heroes Robert Wallner, Philip Gruber who finished 5th at the 3-Star O’Neill Garden of Roses, and Herbert Thaler who finished 7th at the 5-Star Aesthetiker Waengl Taengl. German riders Lars Oesterle who placed 3rd at the 3-Star Austrian Masters and Simon Schweiger are also getting their shred on alongside Finnish snowboarder and TTR World No. 20 Ville Uotilla who recently placed 4th in the Slopestyle at the 6-Star Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships.

A high level of snowboarding action is guaranteed, not just for riders but for spectators too, as they have the opportunity to ride the 1.6 km Absolut Park themselves, and to skate the Chillhaus next to the middle station. Seppi Harml and Christoph Walchhofer are leading the shaping crew that every year creates a sick park for the event. This time around they have built a few extra features to keep riders on their toes. In addition to the well-known ‘Jam Kicker’, rider will have the chance to strut their stuff on a hip, wall ride and cross jump obstacle that calls for the ultimate in style and creativity.
