Bruisin' Music: Iron Maiden: A Matter of Life & Death

E365 -- Iron Maiden... Are these guys still alive? Apparently they are! And after giving this album a solid listen, they definitely aren't feeling the effects of age.
"A Matter of Life and Death" is Maiden's 14th studio recording, with a career dating back to the 70's. It comes standard with everything you'd expect from an old school metal outfit: nine minute epics filled with great riffs, melodic choruses, twin guitar solo's, unexpected time changes, and lots and lots of high pitched vocals. With the current revival of hardcore metal, some of the stuff actually sounds fresh.
This album may not produce classics of the same caliber as "Run to the Hills" or "number of the Beast", but tracks such as the single "Reincarnation Of Benjamin Breeg" and "Pilgrim" will not disappoint. "A Matter of Life and Death" will stand proud in any Iron Maiden collection.
EXTREME INSPIRATION
Composers should write tunes that chauffeurs and errand boys can whistle.
